ARTRANSFER began in Hong Kong in 2008 as a dedicated arts management company, founded by a team of professionals with extensive international experience, and later grew with companies in the UK and Shanghai. Each company operates independently and cultivates a strong local presence, while collaborating on international projects and sharing the resources, networks, and artistic vision of the ARTRANSFER brand. Over the years, it has forged close partnerships with leading presenters, theatres, concert halls, media, and outstanding artists globally, and ARTRANSFER’s mission remains to introduce high-quality performing arts projects from around the world.

Our newly established Japanese company, Shogeido Co., Ltd. (2021),—its Japanese name inspired by the meaning of ARTRANSFER, “the transmission and reception of art”—represents a new chapter for the brand. It is a fully independently incorporated company, developing its own initiatives while benefiting from ARTRANSFER’s global network, reputation, and client base. Building on these resources, Shogeido Co., Ltd is committed to advancing Japan’s performing arts sector and expanding touring opportunities for artists and ensembles across Asia, with Japan now serving as a central hub for the brand’s activities.

ARTRANSFERは、2008年に豊富な国際経験を持つ専門家チームにより、最初に香港で専業のアーツマネジメント会社として設立され、その後、英国および上海にも会社を設立し成長してきました。各社は独立して運営され、地域に根ざした強固な存在感を築く一方で、国際的なプロジェクトにおいて協力し、ARTRANSFERブランドの資源、ネットワーク、芸術的ビジョンを共有しています。長年にわたり、主要な主催者、劇場、コンサートホール、メディア、卓越したアーティストたちと緊密なパートナーシップを築いてきましたが、ARTRANSFERの使命は今もなお、世界中から高品質な舞台芸術作品を紹介することにあります。

このたび新たに設立された日本法人、承芸堂株式会社（2021年設立）—その社名はARTRANSFERの意味「芸術の伝達と承接」に由来します—は、ブランドにとって新たな章を示します。完全に独立した日本法人として、自社の活動を展開しつつ、ARTRANSFERのグローバルネットワーク、評価、および顧客基盤を活用しています。これらの資源を基盤として、承芸堂株式会社は日本の舞台芸術分野の発展に尽力し、アジア全域でアーティストやアンサンブルのツアー機会を拡大し、日本をブランド活動の中心拠点としています。

Representative examples demonstrating the breadth and international scope of projects organized by ARTRANSFER over past years include tours by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra with Zubin Mehta and Lang Lang; the Sino-Japanese version of the Kunqu Opera Peony Pavilion, directed and performed by Bando Tamasaburo in collaboration with Jiangsu Province’s Suzhou Kunqu Opera; Puccini’s Madam Butterfly, a co-production by The Metropolitan Opera, English National Opera, and Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, directed by Oscar-winning Anthony Minghella; the China debut of minimalist icon Steve Reich; the Asia debut of Stanley Kubrick’s groundbreaking film 2001: A Space Odyssey as a live orchestral and choir concert in collaboration with Southbank; the reading tour of Marguerite Duras’s The Lover, performed by multi-award-winning actress Isabelle Huppert; The Royal Dramatic Theatre of Sweden’s first-ever tour to Asia; the stage production C’est presque rien, performed by renowned French actress Juliette Binoche; twice Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat’s China debut concert; and the world-famous Japanese Taiko ensemble Kodo’s return to mainland China in 2019 after nearly two decades, among many others.
